A great post, warning and reminder.

For some reason- I don't know why I have never reacted to poison ivy. However I am still careful. I may not react today but tomorrow may be another day.

Since I have (luckily I might add) been up to my waist kneeling in poison ivy weeding it bare-handed out of some of the woodland areas - I have also successfully cultivated it in a few others much to the horror of some.

I have cultivated it along fences as a ground cover and some trees as it makes a wonderful climbing vine. Call me crazy but it has a beautiful display of bright red leaves in the fall and the birds seem to love the berries.

I don't recommend its cultivation but I do keep it under control and well pruned in the areas in which I have cultivated.

If for some reason you have a resistance you must still take precautions as you may find your tolerance suddenly gone.
