Our New Old House

I’ve just added a video unit from YouTube on my home page. I wanted to include some extra content without being too intrusive, so there you have it! Each time you refresh the page you’ll get a new video from either Expert Village or Home Remodel Workshop. The videos are set up on a playlist so when you hover your mouse over the video screen, a left and right arrow show up.  You can click on one of those arrows to skip ahead to another video or go back to a previous one in the list.

I’ve never used anything like this before, so I’m open to hearing feedback from you. You can leave me a comment here on the site or email me at kelli@ournewoldhouse.com to let me know if you love it, hate it, or can’t find it.

Here it is folks!  I edited together the video I took of Angela Thorne’s demonstration at the Des Moines Rehabbers Club meeting, April 5, 2008. 

The video is 50 minutes long, so give it a few minutes to buffer. 

In addition to this video, Steve Wilke-Shapiro is working on an update to the Des Moines Rehabbers Club website explaining Angela’s process with photos.  Don’t miss that!

Countdown to 4:30 this afternoon!  That’s when we’re meeting at our mortgage originator’s office to sign the closing papers.  I’m still trying to think of a small thank you gift to give to our mortgage originator and our realtor because they’ve both been so extremely helpful in all this and worked their butts off so we could close as quickly as possible.

 So tonight the craziness begins!  I’m so excited. 

Hopefully I will have a special treat for those of you with broadband connections… video of our work!

I can take short movies with my digital camera and in addition to my (almost) daily blog posts with photos, once a week I’ll put up a video post with highlights from the week’s progress.  I fear it’ll end up looking more like a blooper reel, but if it entertains you for a few seconds, then it’s all worthwhile.
